The Performing and Creative Arts
(CAPA) are areas of study which involve students in experiences of
creating, presenting and appreciating. These studies enable students to
acquire knowledge of the arts and develop a range of artistic and
creative skills related to planning and design that will equip them for
a chosen career in the arts and/or lifelong involvement in the
appreciation of the arts.Learning Areas:
1. The Arts: Art, Craft and Design
The students are exposed to the many cultural forces Art offers them; some of which are:
- Development of self expression skills through the visual, craft and design disciplines.
- An understanding of imagination and fantasy as creative forces.
- The general and social aspects of the subject will enable students to
- generate original ideas and refine existing
- develop and understand their imagination and fantasy experiences
- creatively solve problems
- appreciate and respect individuality, creativeness and craftpersonship in themselves and others
- cooperate to perceive sensitively, evaluate and value the environment, the visual world and works of art craft and design

The Special Interest Music Centre (SIMC) programs aim to offer students courses which provide a balance between music education in its broadest sense and music performance, as well as an intensive study in music within the context of a balanced general education.
